André Gorgenyi
Owner of Executive Home Care Northeast Greater Boston
My journey into executive home care business ownership stems from a deeply personal commitment to serving our most vulnerable populations, particularly seniors and individuals with disabilities. Growing up as the child of parents who escaped Communist Europe, I was instilled with profound values of compassion, duty, and care for elders and those less fortunate. This foundation led me to help build a specialized laundry and support service business for seniors and shut ins that grew from 32 clients in 1995 to over 3,100 clients by 2019. We recognized that by handling essential tasks like laundry, intake services, shopping, and errands, we could give seniors and individuals more precious time with their home health aides and families. What made this venture truly special was that we operated it as a ministry—caring not only for those we served but also for our employees, ultimately empowering an 11-year employee and first-generation American team member to purchase and elevate the business to new heights.
Over the past two decades, my philanthropic career has deepened my appreciation for the aging population and their families throughout the Greater Boston Northeast region. Through roles with organizations like The Salvation Army, The YMCA, higher ed, and the arts, I became a trusted advisor in securing charitable gifts while witnessing firsthand the challenges and needs facing our seasoned community members. My experience as a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy and my success in complex fundraising has taught me the power of investing in people who care for those we care about. Now, as I transition into executive healthcare business ownership, I’m driven to create sustainable, compassionate solutions that honor the dignity of our elders while supporting the dedicated professionals who serve them. My goal is to build businesses that operate with the same ministry mindset that guided our laundry service: treating every client as family and every employee as a valued partner in our mission to enhance quality of life for those who have given so much to our communities. André lives in Northeast Greater Boston with his wife Melissa of 20 years and their three children, his mother, and their puppy.
Tara Kasey
Director of Operations and Staff Care
Caring for others has been an integral part of my life. With more than 24 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, I am honored to bring that same compassion and dedication to our clients—and to the caregivers who serve them each day. As the wife of a pastor and Army chaplain, I have been deeply involved in ministering to the needs of the most vulnerable in our communities, including the elderly and individuals with disabilities.
My passion for home care is also personal. In my grandmother’s later years, she needed additional support, and I witnessed from afar as my mother lovingly stepped into the role of caregiver. Living across the country, I helped where I could—through phone calls, technology, and emotional support—but it was difficult knowing I could not be physically present to share in the daily responsibilities my mother and her siblings carried.
We were blessed to have a home care agency assist a few times each week. I still smile when I remember my grandmother excitedly telling me that her “friends” were coming to help her tend her garden, carry laundry down the stairs, or make the soda drinks she loved. They were never a replacement for family—certain things, like coloring and setting her hair, were strictly my mother’s role—but they expanded my grandmother’s circle of friendship and support. Just as importantly, they gave my mother, who was also working as a nurse, a bit of breathing room and time for her own self-care.
It is my hope that our agency can offer that same kind of support to other families—enhancing the lives of those receiving care while lightening the load for the loved ones who walk alongside them. Tara lives in Northeast Greater Boston with her husband of 25 years, and has two adult children and one cat.
Anna Feirick
Administrative Assistant
My passion for home care began in college, when I accepted a companionship role for a family friend’s elderly father. Working with this first client sparked a powerful realization: seniors hold a priceless wealth of knowledge and life experience that is too often overlooked. This insight grew into a deep respect and commitment to serving older adults, motivating me to pursue further education and hands-on experience to meet their unique needs.
Over the past four years, my work in agency home care—along with certifications and home health aide experience—has only strengthened my desire to serve. Building genuine, lasting relationships has been the most rewarding aspect of my career, and I remain committed to the valuable work of advocacy and excellence in care that the seniors in our communities deserve.
