Be Positive!

It’s that time of year again, when everyone starts working on their New Years resolutions. Getting healthy is usually the most common resolution, many will decide to try a new diet or exercise more, but there is one more thing you need to do to be healthy this year…. Positivity!

Studies have shown that being positive helped protect against poor health later on. Positivity can also help with dealing with stress and pain. So what can you do to be more positive?

  • Adopt a pet

Not only are pets great companions, they also lower stress and blood pressure and help you become more physically and socially active!

  • Join a community

Community centers are a perfect place to find a new hobby. Whether is be painting, bird watching or woodworking, a new hobby promotes social interaction and gives you something to look forward to.

  • Volunteer

Taking the focus off of yourself and doing something nice for others will make you feel better.

  • Listen to music

Listening to music has been known to help people relax. Listening to music that you liked in the past can help bring back happy memories.

  • Surround yourself with positive people

The more positivity around you, the more likely you are to feel positive.

  • Meditate or do yoga

Meditation and yoga can help you relax by keeping your focus on one thing. Without a wandering mind, you are more likely to be able to relax and have a positivity outlook.

  • Smile!

Smiles are contagious, not only will they help you feel better, you might also help another people just by giving them a smile.

This year, everyone’s resolution should be to promote positivity, not only for yourself, but for everyone around you too!
